A welcome from the Peer Mentoring Programme Coordinator, Ms Leandre Botha
The Peer Mentoring Programme is a student driven initiative in the Faculty of Health Sciences. It is a supportive way to help first-year students adjust to university life, both academically and socially. The Programme was launched in October 2021 and spans throughout all our 11 departments. It has significantly grown in numbers over the years as it is found to be positive and meaningful to all those involved. Having senior students as mentors is a great way to guide first year students through the transition as this programme is committed to helping students thrive and cope in different areas while also adopting The Nelson Mandela University values to change the world.
