A warm welcome to the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Nelson Mandela University. We are looking forward to see you in person and walk your university journey with you. 

 

Our vision is to develop exemplary, fit-for-purpose dietetics and nutrition professionals through sustainable, transformative and innovative education and training, underpinned by relevant world-class research in the field. It will be our pleasure to support you and guide you to become the dietitian that fits this vision. Dietetics is a service profession and you commit now to lifelong learning and caring for others. 

 

The first year co-ordinator is Mr Thapelo Makgoba. You will soon meet him. He is the person that will also present the buddy programme that will help you to adapt to university life and your studies to become a dietitian.
