A Welcome from the Deputy Dean, Professor Dalena van Rooyen

Welcome to the Faculty of Health Sciences Shared Services Division.​​​​​​​

This innovative shared services platform was created to achieve shared goals in HR, Finance, Digital Innovation, Academic Staff Support, Marketing and Communication, Faculty Fleet and Logistics, Community outreach, Project Management and Student Services in the Faculty. At a time when resources are limited, the faculty has taken notable steps to enhance effectiveness and agility in responding to disruptions in an effort to streamline and simplify essential services. The centralised delivery of core operational services ensures effective service delivery to staff, students and stakeholders, allowing academic departments to focus on the core business and deliver on the vision and mission of the faculty, prioritising the academic project. Shared services in the Faculty of Health Sciences have proved to be cost-efficient as the centralisation of functions amplified service quality, eliminated duplication, and standardised services across departments. In addition, the Shared Services Division will allow staff to investigate new opportunities, which will assist the Faculty of Health Sciences in becoming a transformative and innovative Health Sciences Education leader. The Office of the Deputy Dean will oversee the Shared Services Division with the support of competent and experienced staff driving the various portfolios.
